Judging by the number of reviewers who have used it contrary to everything that Wahl directs, then pan it in their reviews, the manufacturer is right to state over and over that this shaver is meant FOR PROFESSIONAL USE. A professional understands how to properly use it. If you want to learn how to use it like a PRO, there are videos available online. As its name implies, this is a FINISHING tool, used to get the very last stubble down to skin level. When used as directed, the results are as good as it gets for an electric. Doesn't cut, scrape or irritate my scalp or face. This is without a doubt, the most comfortable closest cutting electric shaver I've ever used. UPDATE: Having owned this for a couple of months, a serious problem with foil wear has surfaced. I have replaced the foil 3 times @ $20.00 each, a total cost of $60.00 on top of the razor’s initial cost, that’s ridiculous. When these foils fail they tear while shaving. I've severely cut my scalp and cheek when this happens. I apply no additional pressure to the shaver when using it and clean and lube with Wahl blade oil after every use. Cost of ownership is ridiculous I have deducted three stars from my initial review due this very poor design issue. Tried to contact Wahl by email describing in detail all of the issues I’ve experienced and was directed to call instead. If I could call I would have...again ridiculous. This is some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I will never buy another Wahl product.
