I liked the idea of the main character's job ..... body language specialist .... and thought that part of the character could have been better developed. The beginning of the book flips back and forth from present to past. I dislike books that do that, but at least this didn't continue throughout the book. I felt like the author tried to put a lot of 'must have themes' into the book without really developing any of them (a gay couple, a crime mob family, a dysfunctional family, drug trafficking, sexual deviance, infidelity). As I said this was a quick read so maybe if you're looking for a light diversion, this book would be okay to read. I honestly don't know if I'd read another book from this author or not.
