These traps don't make the grade. Here is what I've found that works better.
I've tried just about every method known to man to eliminate flies. I have horses, and flies love livestock, therefore I have an abundance of flies. I've used traps, ribbons, feed-thru, and decided to try these Chinese mesh fly traps too. I went with 3 of them. They are a total pain in the arse to deal with. The mesh can tear easily and it catches on the wires. They don't hang straight half the time and even if they do the wind blows and the bait gets dumped. Now I bought under the name of RANCH FLY TRAP. Since these are Chinese, there are many band names, but it's all the same BS. I ended up just throwing them away and decided to write this and save you the trouble. The trap that I've had the best luck with (and have ordered more) is the Farnam Starbar Trap N Toss. They are the easiest to work with, just add the bait and water and hang. You can even add more bait and water. Wind doesn't dump the bait either. There are similar bag products that do pretty good too. Don't waste your time with these mesh bags though. If you are looking for a concentrated spray killer/deterrent/repellant then check out LambdaStar UltraCap 9.7% Insecticide. This stuff works great. And if you are trying to make fun out of killing flies then use the BUG-A-Salts that kills with salt. Kids/grandkids can be put to good use with a few of these bad boy fly killers! But at nearly $50 per gun, it's a bit pricey. But it is the most satisfying and you can never have too many guns. You can get the Trap and Toss for under $6. Remember: the only good fly is a dead fly (unless you're a Scissor-Tailed Fly Catcher). Happy hunting.
