I suppose if you simply wish to block dust or sand particles this might be adequate. In my case I was looking for a mask to use for Covid protection while exercising at the gym. I don't believe this is suitable in that context. It is a single layer of extremely thin material. Water runs through it easily. My opinion is that it doesn't have sufficient layers to serve as virus protection. Fortunately it is cheap (not inexpensive, cheap) and it's not worth the time to return it vis a vis postage cost.
