Allow me to congratulate Amazon for neutering this app. Recently, Netflix announced an exciting new enhancement. Subscribers would have the ability to download Netflix content, and view it without using data. This enhancement WAS available on all mobile devices, but this past weekend, the download feature became unavailable on all Kindles and Fire HD tablets. Is there anyone out there who thinks this is coincidental or accidental? Amazon can't stand the heat, so they kicked Netflix out of the kitchen by removing the download ability on all Kindle and Fire HD devices. The obvious solution is to use non-Amazon hardware to download Netflix content but I, for one, am also seriously considering not renewing my Amazon Prime membership in response to the company's brutally anti-competitive move, and suggest that other Prime customers consider taking similar action.
