I like the fan itself and think it's a decent value for the features. I wanted smoke, but they make you buy a much more expensive version to get that luxury, so I opted to but this more reasonably priced version since it will have a rain cover anyway. I gave it 2 stars is because they added four tabs on the sides of the roof flange that prevent you from using your existing rain cover, and there's no warning of this. The "improved" designed forces you to buy a new, proprietary rain cover from Maxxair (FANMATE Vent Cover) for much more $ than a standard rain cover. I didn't need to buy a new rain cover, no less one for $54, when a plain version is closer to $30. The Amazon photo is wrong since it shows a flat flange around the fan. Even the installation instructions still show a flat flange all around the fan. I noticed the different tabs when I opened the box, but it didn't register that I couldn't reinstall my current rain cover before removing my old fan. Then, it was too late. I had a big hole in my camper roof, with rain on the way....
