No fact checking?
I read the book, but the rest of you don't have to in order to see one of the major errors in this book. Simply go to page 5 in the LOOK INSIDE OPTION provided by AmazonThe Amateur.
"No American politician had attempted to usurp a sitting president of his own party since Ted Kennedy failed to unseat Jimmy Carter more than thirty years before."
Not true at all, in 1992 a republican went against another republican while he was president.
Pat Buchanan went against George H.W. Bush.
Other factual errors
"An Illinois nurse named Jill Stanek testified before the Health and Human Services Committee that she had discovered that babies were being aborted alive and allowed to die in soiled utility rooms. One baby was accidentally thrown into the trash. Though Obama never showed up at the committee hearings, he voted against the bill - not once, but twice."
Edward Klein writes that Obama never attended committee hearings about the Born Alive Bill, but Jill Stanek (who he cites in the quote above ) published an exchange they had at one of the hearings. This was published in 2008.)
The author writes that he was never there, but Obama had no substitutes, substitutes are noted, so he was there to vote and as Jill Stanek writes he was the for the discussions as well.
"Though Obama never showed up at the committee hearings, he voted against the bill - not once, but twice."
Obama voted against the bill 4 times.
Weird thing to get wrong, because in the context of his book that would have helped him to win over the readers. Another simple to verify fact that he got wrong.
The writer's unwillingness to verify facts before committing them to print speaks volumes against his credibility and also shows what he thinks of his readers. As a reader I feel insulted as if he just doesn't care enough about what he is writing to make sure he is printing truth.
