Temperture is 30 degrees below the display, not anywhere near accurate
I bought this air fryer a couple of weeks ago and have used it quite a bit, cooking many different things. It did a good job and I like the controls, very easy to use. It is also well made, of good quality. However, I found that I wasn’t getting that “fried” result that I wanted and in some cases I could compensate and get that by turning up the heat. Eventually I got curious and put two reasonably accurate oven temperature gauges I have in the cooker and let it go for 5 minutes at 360 degrees. Both registered 330 degrees, a good 30 degrees below the readout. I contacted the seller and they said: Our Engineer tested 360degree by temperature sensor near heating pipe. When heating pipe reaches the highest temperature(360degree), it will stop working, while the air inlet and outlet of fryer still keep working. Thus, temperature in fryer is actually lower than 360 degree. And They think 25-30degree lower is normal after 5 minutes. So the temperature you set the unit to is not the temperature you get and the seller knows that! How you could follow any recipe and expect a good result while cooking at 30 degrees less isn’t realistic to me, so I am returning this item. If my oven was this far off spec I'd get it repaired/adjusted. After my little test I ordered a Phillips air fryer and ran the same test. It registered within 5 degrees of the display setting. It costs more but what good is a unit that doesn’t cook at the temperature you set it at? None in my mind. I'll be keeping the Phillips.
