Not safe to mount on wall at all !!!!!!
We received this today and were impressed with the unit once unpackaged. True to description in appearance. There is no way to check the unit unless you mount it on the wall as the tabs is hangs by activate a concealed switch that turns unit on. This means you have to put holes in your wall to check functionality. My boyfriend is a fire captain and rigged a sheet of plywood to hang the unit on to test it before committing to putting holes in the bathroom wall. We let it set at low-medium heat for about an hour, hour and a half and endured the smell of the new heater which warmed the bathroom nicely. When my boyfriend went to pick up the panel we mounted the heater to the wood was very warm to the touch, more than warm, almost hot. When he pulled the heater from the tabs and felt the radiant heat coming off the back metal plate, he touched it and it was hot enough to cook bacon on. He used a Thermal imaging camera he carries in his vehicle 15 minutes after disconnecting power and the reading on the device was 135 degrees. One Hundred Thirty Five Degrees This is NOT a safe product to mount on a painted drywall wall or any other type of wall and presents a fire hazard. Purchase at your own risk, but from a Fire Captains perspective this is a dangerous product., I am awaiting a return authorization from the 3rd party seller as it wasn't an amazon product. In the meantime my boyfriend has gathered all the particulars on this product and will be looking into this item for its product safety records and the UL testing it must go through. Could be a faulty unit but we are not taking that chance.
