I am rating these earbuds according to how well they suited my needs, which is mainly to listen to music while walking. For this purpose, they are not good at all. If you will be sitting still or doing some activity that doesn't involve walking or running, you may like them very much. I never tried them for phone calls, so I can't comment on how well they work for that purpose. First, the good points... • Very small, lightweight, and comfortable. • No problem with them staying in place while walking. • Good quality construction. • Really nice little storage/charging case. Not so good points... • Very bass-heavy (which could actually be good if that's what you're into). • Harsh sound in the upper midrange (like female vocals) • When walking, when your foot contacts the pavement, you hear a loud BADOOM BADOOM BADOOM in your ears. That last point was the deal-breaker for me. I believe the technical term for it is the "occlusion effect" ... when vibration from each footfall makes a low-pitched booming noise in your ears. This will happen with any earbud that seals off your ear canal, but the effect was much worse with these BEBEN earbuds than other 6 earbuds I tried out. For the record, I don't walk particularly heavily, and even though I tried to walk as lightly as possible, the noise was unbearable for me. I really wanted to like these earbuds, but they are not usable for my purposes. Update: The seller reached out to me via email after reading my review, offering to provide me with a full refund without having to return the product. I initially agreed to this as a nice gesture, and was prepared to append my review with kind words about the seller's customer service. However, when they sent me the claim code for the refund (which I am not going to use), they included the following in their message... "...would you please do me a favor to remove the negative review or change it to 5 stars? I beg you to help me. I am just a single mother and I have to raise three children. This negative review has really made a huge influence on me. Please help, much appreciated!" I think I know why this product has so many 5-star reviews.
