Cat surgery may be required
God, I hope our cat doesn’t need to be cut open to remove the chunk of this toy he swallowed after 1 hour of playing with it. If only the phone hasn’t rang, maybe I could have stopped him.
Exaggeration? No way. This is what happens if foreign objects become lodged in their digestive tract and they can’t purge them one way or the other.
It happened to our cat when he was younger and had his way with a foam cat toy from another manufacturer.
After being sliced open and sewn back together by the veterinary surgeon, our cat want on to develop pneumonia from all the vomiting he did while trying to eliminate the toy.
After a week of spoon feeding him antibiotics (not fun), and cleaning his fur matted with diarrhea (not fun), thank god he survived.
Now that he’s an adult, he still has a bulging midsection. All that scar tissue and stitching are preventing his organs from settling back into the right place.
Toy company employees are reprehensible for such irresponsible behavior. Rot in hell.
