I bought this scale last September, less than a year ago. The reason I bought it was because it was highly ranked on Amazon. And it worked fine as expected for about 8 months. We use it to weigh ourselves and my infant to track his weight growth. One day, while carrying my baby (about 18 lbs) and about to step on the scale, I accidentally kicked it on the edge. It slid about 1 inch on the floor, hit the bathtub where we had put it next to, and shattered instantly into thousand pieces of glasses with shards lying everywhere. I couldn't believe my eyes and had to take a picture of it to show my family, and which I'll post up shortly on Amazon so you can see how it shattered. I'm a small petite mom, not a body builder, and I couldn't imagine this scale breaking like it did in this scenario. In any case, I'll be getting another scale to replace this, and this time around, I'll make sure NOT to get one made of all glass like this. I was hesitant of getting a glass scale but didn't think it would break like this given how it's highly rated. But I saw first-hand how dangerous it could be and want to share this with others who are considering this scale or others made of fragile glasses.
