You get what you pay for
I buy a lot of items from Amazon and Amazon Stores. For the most part I make wise choices and I am very satisfied with my purchases.
This is one of those rare cases where I should have heeded one of the reviews about poor quality. If you are looking to "Kiddie-proof" something, than this will work. If you are looking for a safe that could withstand more than a feeble attempt to break into it - look elsewhere.
Pros: 2 day free shipping with Prime (main reason I ordered this one)
Along with the terrible Chinese/English instructions, there are actually ones that were redone in standard English.
Cons: Poorly designed and constructed. Door flaps back and forth (when locked) about 1/4". This makes it awkward to enter the security code because every time you push the keypad, the door move in and then back out again. This sloppiness would also allow someone to work a pry bar between the door and frame.
But worse, the dang thing wobbles when sat on a flat floor - it is slightly convex on the bottom. It's a double wall of thin steel with expanding foam (I assume fire resistant) between the walls. It seems like they put too much foam in the bottom and it bulged the bottom out in the middle. Guess I will try to hammer the bulge back in to see if I can get it in usable condition.
I would send this item back - but at 80lbs - not worth the hassle or shipping cost.
Will use it for important documents - but not for real valuables.
