Piece of junk
I pulled out of storage my brand new Oyster 500 food processor 33 days after Amazon delivery, needing to use it for the first time. Nothing hard, I just wanted to puree some ripe, cooked tomatoes for canning, and the blade wouldn’t turn. I opened and reassembled it several times, thinking I wasn’t doing it right, although this certainly wasn’t the first food processor I ever used. It was the first time that I encountered a similar problem, though. No matter what I did, the blade would not turn, so it was a $40 useless piece of junk. Unfortunately, by Amazon returns policy, I was 3 days too late to return this item, so in the trash it went. Prior to this one, I owned a KitchenAid food processor, also bought on Amazon, and it too developped a blade problem, eventually, but at least I had a good two years of use with it. I don’t know who or where Amazon is getting the food processors from, but it seems strange that two in a row should show the same problem with the blades not turning. Amazon, your customers pay you good money, and in return we expect good merchandise from you that works, otherwise we are being ripped off.
