Stay away, you've been warned. The metal is cast, and cast poorly. I know the item description says its made from forged high carbon steel, but look at the picture where the metal snapped. That's clearly cast steel, not forged. The arm of the compression yolk snapped upon first use with the spring under full tension. I'm lucky that I'm inherently cautious with any kind of spring compressor and made sure I was working such that if it did break and eject the spring or strut, it wouldn't hit me. Well, it broke and ejected both. Maybe if you have a civic or something with a 500 lb spring rate, it would be ok, but after having it actually snap on me, I'd just steer clear of it altogether and not take the chance.
