Ethical concerns re: 7 day trial
So, I signed up for the 7 day trial to try out the app on my Firestick to see if it's worth the subscription and to watch The Good Fight. We are also considering "cutting the cord" and wanted explore this app as an alternative. I really did not have any problems with streaming on the Firestick (Not sure which generation I have, but I bought it about a year or two ago). The limited commercials are not that bad, but I have trouble with the ethical intent of CBS. I was considering starting the subscription until I tried to locate when my trial ends and how to cancel the trial in case I decided to decline subscribing. I logged into the CBS All Access website and saw the message "It looks like you signed up for All Access on your Amazon App Store. Please visit the account settings on your Amazon App Store to make changes or updates to your account" So, I logged into the App Store and there is no option to cancel the trial.
The app is not listed under my video subscriptions (I subscribe to a couple of other video apps) and there is only a global option to cancel all subscriptions by turning off 1-click. So I guess I have to call the toll free number to cancel a trial? Does CBS not think highly enough of their product that they resort to trickery to get customers to pay for a subscription? This is so wrong on so many levels. Then there is the other issue of limited commercials. So you are so greedy that you profit from sponsors (commercials) and then make viewers pay a monthly charge for shows that one can watch with an antenna? And I guess I am paying thrice because I still have cable and there is a lack of access of shows On-Demand? Very shady, CBS. You should be ashamed. I love The Good Fight but I will forgo based on principle.
