Utterly disappointed
I purchased this board as a replacement for the cheap Accudart board that I had. I have just recently gotten back into playing darts again and wanted to get something similar to the boards we use (Winmau Blade 4's) at the place where I play weekly.
I did some research and narrowed down my choice between this board and the Blade 4. I decided on this board because it was listed for $10 less than the Winmau, but basically has the same features and appeared to be about the same quality.
The board arrived on 5/5/15 and when I opened the box, I was not pleased with the quality of the board. It looked so bad out of the box that I actually checked the box to see if it had been opened before. This board is either a factory second or had been used previously and had been repackaged and sold as new. I should have boxed it up an just returned it, but I really needed a better board so I figured I'd keep it. So far I have used it for practice twice, for a total of about 3 hours.
Issues with the board:
1. Overall it looks very rough. Not as clean and new looking as I expected. Not nearly as nice looking as the pictures on Amazon or the Unicorn web site.
2. There is a large scar on the front of the board where the 16 is located, and it's obvious that it was filled in and sanded down.
3. The bullseye has a very noticeable bump right in the center of it.
4. Most of the enamel paint on the number 2 is chipped off.
5. The double and triple scoring areas look terrible, they are not colored in evenly and look blotchy.
6. There appears to be gobs of glue along the ends of the wires where the 12 and 5 are located.
7. Darts leave very noticeable marks. Not holes, but smallish dents. I didn't expect that. The Blade 4's we use at the club get 1000's of darts thrown at them every week and show very little wear from it.
I will keep the board, since I've used it, but I would NOT recommend anyone buy this board.
At least there's one bright side. We just finished up the dart league for this year, and I got a brand new Blade 4 as my consolation prize for being a pretty crappy dart player. So I can compare the 2 side by side when they're brand new. The Blade 4 looks like a good pro tournament quality dart board out of the box. 20x time better than this. This board looks like a cheap $20 board from Wal-Mart.
This board is currently $49.45 here on Amazon. The Winmau Blade 4 is 59.99. If you're looking for a non-stapled bristle dart board in this price range, AVOID THIS BOARD AND BUY THE WINMAU. It's not worth it to try to save $10.
I've added some pictures to this to give examples of what I'm talking about with the issues with this board, as well as a picture of it next to the Blade 4 so you can see the difference.
