Better than a webcam - support worse than Comcast
I think there are 2 point of views to consider here.
If you are the average consumer - stay far away from these cameras. I am highly suspect of some of these reviews. Even one of the pictures that a customer uploaded to a review is a different AC adapter than what actually comes with it. The ones I received require a certain level of technical understanding to set them up properly. Setting them up improperly will allow your neighbors or anyone passing by to log into them and watch you. I mean if you are into that - they by all means haphazardly install these. I'm a technical person and unless everyone else is to - there is no way they figured out how to set them up without instructions.
As a technical person - these are borderline ok/pieces of garbage. From my understanding - they only keep settings in RAM so if you lose power then you will have to reconfigure them. The web based controls don't work and recording doesn't work in their Android app. To connect it to your AP you have to login to the device (which each have a default username/password which is already a bad sign) and install an IE plugin. What is this 1990? So if you run Linux or Mac OS - they are paperweights to you. The AP scan doesn't work until you are actually connected to an AP.
Once you do get them setup on the app - they have pretty good picture quality. The motion detection system is only ok. Basically if motion comes in front of it - it will alert you. But it will not pick up another motion detection event for another 15 minutes. I would give it another star if I could configure that (like alert for motion at any time).
Their support is about as useful as a 5 year old. I told them that I got one setup and a second one would not broadcast the setup AP. Their support said "maybe there is something wrong with your wifi". No, my wifi is fine. I'm not saying that my wifi can't be at fault - but if I got one connected already and working - then logic dictates that my wifi is working fine.
I did find out that it requires specific voltage. Anything above it and it will not broadcast the setup AP. Which means if you want to place it somewhere reasonable and not use their AC adapter you will have to find an AC adapter (or USB port on your computer seems to work fine) with the same output.
Oh and one of the stands came broken requiring me to tape it.
On a scale from 1 to Comcast I rate this a steaming pile of poop with sprinkles on it.
