Broke after a few uses, no way to contact manufacturer.
Broke after just a few uses. I knew when I bought them that they weren’t going to be super accurate calipers. And quite frankly I didn’t need a high level of accuracy so it didn’t matter. However, I DID NEED calipers that would turn on after more than a few uses. Unfortunately that is not what I have. I purchased these calipers about eight months ago. Now, you might argue that was a while ago, maybe I used them multiple times a day for eight months and managed to wear them out? Wrong. I used these <12 times during those eight months. Today, when I went to measure something, I tried to turn them on and I got nothing. Not to worry, I thought, I just need to replace the battery! Wrong again. Fresh batteries did nothing. The unit is well and truly broken. I tried to get into contact with the manufacturer “Neiko”. I realized there was no contact information, or even any documentation whatsoever, that came with the calipers. So I checked online. I searched around and came up empty handed. Lots and lots of websites that sell Neiko tools, but no Neiko website, and no way to contact the manufacturer. So I signed into Amazon to see if they could help me get ahold of the manufacturer. Well, according to Amazon, I am out of my return window (not surprising) and am out of my customer support window for this product as well. So now I have a pair of broken calipers and no manufacturer or distributor to talk to about it. These were not expensive, but I do expect even my $20 products to last more than a couple uses over less than a year. I don’t usually say this, but I highly recommend you do not buy this item. Things happen, and I don’t blame companies for the occasional faulty product, but I do blame companies for how they respond to instances of faulty products. This company seems to not even exist. Save your money for something better.
