I liked the design aesthetic and sleek ergonomic look of it which is why I bought it and for that it gets 4-1/2 stars--it does deliver on that. It feels good in hands and has a good weight. It comes pre-charged. Battery seems to not be replaceable. Have used it now 3 or 4 times. Beard trimming functionality is good and cuts even and tight-- although sometimes it does pull. The 4 trimmer combs are high quality and look like they will not break over long time period. It does have a bright and larger red diode on the side of trimmer indicating charging in progress. On the cons, its blade is somewhat course and does not feel comfortable especially on nose trimming. It does not cut close on nose and ear hairs as i got on my old Conair model that died--which is important feature that Conair did exceptionally well. Getting back to looks and construction, the metal colored exterior side panels seem to be plastic, no matter how metallic it looks on the pictures, 90% sure they are not--that includes the stand too--the stand is silver colored plastic and somewhat lightweight construction. the amount of plastic build on this was a disappointment since the looks and its form were a compelling reason to purchase it--be aware in your purchase! My overall recommendation is get over the initial design beauty of it and the packaging--its a bit superficial. If i did it over again, I would spend more time looking for beard trimmer where user opinions indicate good sharpness, fineness of blades, replaceability of battery. If you purchase it for the looks, know that you are trading off on other aspects with functionality. Nov 2014 update. The product's razor cutter head is not substantially connected to the motor or body of the trimmer, so I discovered that it started creating lots of bad vibrations and noise level increased. Never take the cutter head off--thats when the problems got worse! They even sent me a new one after I asked for a refund when it was still under warranty. Got a new one and the same problem is developing after several months of weekly use--excessive vibration. Unfortunately I am downgrading this product to 2 stars. Its construction is not the best quality--looks over substance.
