Before Buying, Can the Author Give an Explanation
I listened to the author or NPR and the Daily Show yesterday. Although the documentation is secret and she has to go with interviews she still needs to present some more logical theories with her Roswell account to make the book more believable. She did state she put this bit of controversial material at the end, but it is the material most are interested in. She claims that the Soviets used one of the Horten brothers designs to create a "flying saucer" and genetically altered teenagers to fly it. The objective, she theorizes, was to create a panic similar to that of Orson Welles 1938 broadcast that she claims both Stalin & Hitler had found interesting. The objective supposedly was to tie up American air defenses. The author needs to explain the following: 1. The Horten brothers were not captured by the Soviets. One served in the post war Luftwaffe and the other went to Argentina. Their aircraft designs were interesting but not all worked and none were capable of crossing the Atlantic, Pacific, or Arctic from the USSR. By 1948 the only aircraft capable of such a long distance trip were larger multi-engine aircraft. Is she claiming this flying disc was shipped to Mexico or the US and then launched? 2. She claims that the child occupants were genetically altered to look like aliens and hints that this was possible from the work of Dr. Joseph Mengele. Mengele fled to the West to avoid capture by the Soviets and ended up in South America. His experiments in the concentration camps give no indication that he discovered DNA (that happened in about 1948 and it was not by Mengele). The host asked her if these kids would not have had to been born in the mid-1930s and did not receive a good response. Can she explain this since it is part of her theory? 3. She said the Soviets hoped this would tie up US air defenses? For what purpose? For that matter, how would this incident, even if it caused and similar panic to 1938, tie up US defenses? The Soviets had just about developed their own atom bomb by that time but like the US, did not have enough to knock out an enemy in a "Blitzkrieg". That was years away. The Soviet air force was just developing long-range bombers and apparently their first was based on the American B-29. They still did not have an overwhelming strategic bomber force. What does she think they were going to attack the US with that they needed to distract our air defenses? 4. She also mentioned Truman kept it a secret because the US was working on similar human experiments, etc. Nice theory, but only speculation with on witness who is anonymous. There are lots of people they claim they were take by space aliens, maybe they are telling the truth also? I believe on the radio the host mentioned she specialized in National Security as a reporter for a newspaper. I would like to see her respond to these questions on Amazon on the author's section before I spend money on a book like this. Sometimes you need to properly defend what you write.
