I got these boots as a gift for Christmas on 2013 to replace of Vasque boots that were well over 10 years old (and are showing a little wear but are still great boots). These have yet to see any trail time and have predominantly been worn to work on rainy and snowy days. Recently as I laced them up, I observed the sole on the front of the toe be separating from the boot. By the time I got home from work that day I noticed the front of the right boot to be separated all the way to the treads. I called Asolo assuming that a company charging this much money for boots and with a name as well known as them would stand behind their products. I was greeted by Jenny in customer service. Jenny refused to work with me and informed me that the it sounded like the soles had dry-rotted. I'm sorry, my Vasque boots have not dry-rotted in over 10 years and have been used for both hiking and hunting and left in the bed of truck in the rain and snow for days on end. Jenny, after about a 10 minute conversation, during which I asked to speak with her supervisor or boss informed me she was the only person I was allowed to speak with and that she had no boss. She proceeded to say to me she could not do anything for me and hung up the phone on me. I have never had a company treat me like this. I spend lots of money on my toys and expect them to live up to what they are expected to do. That said, when a product falls this short of my expectations I give the manufacturer the opportunity to make it right. Asolo is the first company to fail at making, or at least attempting, to rectify the inherent defects in their product. I really wanted to love these boots.
