A little too much for me. It was also confusing from the start. The author mixes two timelines unknowingly to the reader and this doesn't become clear till the last third of the book. Each character, evil and good guys have at least two names. It takes work to keep it all straight and reading should not be such a chore. It all falls apart in the last half. Do not read if you like animals, small children or nice people in general. Do not read if you don't like lots and lots of blood and guts. Do not let young children read this book. It could have been a good book if the author wasn't so obsessed with that brutal over the top violence and that starting unseen timeline. The story itself was a good plot line but this was not really a mystery but a horror outing with much too much senseless horror seemingly written only to disgust.
