Awful sound quality--huge step down from previous Backbeat FIT
Update: Note Plantronics replied below and suspects the unit I received is defective. I still think that's a relevant issue that the first new one out of the box has these issues, but others may want to take a shot and see if they have a better experience than I did. I did up the star rating to two since one star may have been overly harsh but it's still a pretty disappointing experience.

I used my previous Blackbeat FIT almost daily for two years until my backpack was stolen with it inside. I ordered this latest version to replace it and received it yesterday. The sound on this new version, including the automated battery level voice, is distorted and sounds like it's coming through a long tin can. Whenever audio is connected, there is a very noticeable background hiss. I'd like to think this particular pair is defective somehow, which I can't rule out for sure, but it came sealed in a new package. I'm returning and ordering an older version still on sale at Amazon in hopes it will be like the one I had before. One additional quibble even if the sound was decent: The older version had two buttons on each ear which made it easier to do different things, but this version only has one button per ear, and a long list of different click pattern instructions to do different things (e.g. play=1 click, next track=2 clicks, previous track=3 clicks)--I definitely found the old way more intuitive.
