So in all fairness, when I got this scale, I absolutely loved it. I loved the design, I loved the ease of use, I loved how compact it was (especially when you're in a small apartment as I am!). But I noticed something yesterday when I was weighing an 8 oz package of cream cheese... In one spot on the scale, it said a little over 5 oz. On another part of the scale, it said a little over 7 oz. I decided to test it out with a bunch of different things and each time, I got different measurements depending where on the scale the item was placed. Even a shift of a few millimeters would change the measurement. I would put just one star because obviously, if it doesn't work, then it's useless, but I want to see first if there's a fix somewhere that I don't know about. I don't know if it was always inaccurate or if something happened recently to make it so (though I didn't drop it, it was never exposed to elements it shouldn't have been, and it was always stored in the same, safe spot). So we'll see. If I could figure out how to make this scale work again (or for the first time - not sure now if it ever did work correctly), then it would be 5 star worthy. Well, 4, since I have to deal with this issue. I've only had the scale for two months now. UPDATE (May 17, 2013): I had to update to three stars because customer service is awesome. I emailed Ozeri yesterday about my defective scale - just after writing my review - and they answered within a few hours, offering to send me a replacement scale. Very quick, very courteous, and if the new scale works, I might just have to update the number of stars again. UPDATE 2 (July 9, 2013): Whelp, I received my new scale - customer service at Ozeri really is great. It was working just fine, too... until about a week ago. I was baking and had slightly moved an item that was on the scale and noticed that the measurement changed. Then I started noticing it all the time. If I moved something even a millimeter, the weight readout would change. Also, I measured items where I KNEW how much they weighed, and I would get a different measurement on the scale. So alas, as much as I love this scale for its design/style, how compact it is, and how easy it is to use, if it doesn't work, it isn't worth anything, which is why I had to drop this down to 1 star. I would add more stars for customer service, but I'm reviewing the product here, not the customer service, right? I just sent out another email to Ozeri asking for a refund. Now I need to find a new scale - and pronto!
