Not really "Sugar-Free"
I purchased this book because I have completely cut all sugar and wheat out of my diet. I was so excited when I saw this book, because I thought, "Finally, someone has written a book which caters to both sugar free and gluten free eating!" Alas, many of the recipes in this book are chock full of sugars. Sure, they are disguised as Agave, Palm Sugar and Maple Syrup, but these are all just different forms of Sugar. Maybe these "unprocessed" forms of sugar are a tad better for your body than processed white table sugar, but if you are trying to watch your sugar intake due to candida, diabetes, unbalanced hormones, weight management, etc., then keep on looking, cause this isn't the book for you. And I've been reading reports lately that Agave might actually be worse than table sugar. Many types of Agave are highly processed and are really more like high fructose corn syrup (which is the worst). Having said that, there are some good recipes in the book and many of the entrees are sugar free, but then most entrees are. I'm still looking for a book which has breakfast, snack and desert type foods which are both TRULY sugar free and gluten free.
