Disappointing DVD set, with a horrendous packaging flaw
Becker is not the *best* show there is, but it remains my favorite show. Personally I'd give this show a 4-5 star if I were discussing the show on its merit, but I'll discuss this product(The DVD set) specifically.
12 discs of this package are enclosed in your typical DVD folder. It's not the best quality, but it's workable. The problem happens on the final disc, that is held at the inside of the cover. In my packaging the holder was off and the sticker that the holder was attached to was sticked to the disc surface itself. After forcibly detaching it, noticable smidgen was left on the disc.(Photo attached)
This made the disc well... unreadable. I've requested a replace(not refund, as I'm very partial to this show) of the product for this reason.
As for the DVD set, this package suffers three massive shortcomings:
1. It's DVD, and not very high-def.
- 720 x 480 is arguably not the best definition you'd expect nowadays
2. Audio sync is terrible in seasons 3 to 5
- Audio is roughly 300ms behind. It's disconcerting to see lips and sound do not match.
3. No subtitles
- It's really not a point docker, but it's one of the things you'd expect in a modern DVD set.
