I took a chance purchasing this item on Amazon because I trust in my Amazon Prime membership and felt certain that if I suspected counterfeit I could promptly return without a problem. I bought this cologne for my boyfriend from a certifiable dealer a year and a half ago because he loves it! He even asked me where I got it from when he received it because it is known to be very expensive and highly counterfeited. Trying to save some money, I found a bigger bottle for less on Amazon Prime (first red flag!) and figured I'd do a little research on how to spot a fake and compare it to the box and bottle I previously purchased. When I received this cologne, it looked legit enough until the insert fell out of the box...& was written in Chinese...or Arabic...or Sanskrit for all I know! Ok, suspicious, but not a deal breaker. I then inspected the top of the atomizer, which I read is a foolproof way to declare authenticity. It should have 'Creed' etched on the top, but it did not. Completely blank. It didn't pass the sniff text either. I understand there can be variation in batches, but with all of the other indicators I can't take the chance of gifting my man with a fake. He is a quality over quantity kind of guy. Not to mention, if it is a fake, which I believe it is, I paid almost $300 for it!!!! So I logged into my Amazon Prime account to arrange for return...only to be told this item is not eligible for return! What???!!! Thankfully, I contacted customer service and explained my concerns and was issued a prompt refund. Alas, I still love Amazon Prime, but I would not recommend purchasing this particular product from them.
