Loop Nature Sounds in Music instead of using a skill ... much more choices for you and will play all night if you want.
EDIT: ** I now ask "Alexa, Play Babbling Brook" ... this excellent soothing recording is a little over 1 hour long so you'll likely be asleep before it fades out and restarts ("Running Stream" mentioned below is less then 10 minutes long, so I like Babbling Brook much better for sleeping). Then I say "Alexa, Loop mode on" right after it starts playing to get it to play all night long without stopping. In the morning just say "Alexa, Stop" to turn it off. This is a much better way of getting a nice nature sound to sleep with in my opinion then using a skill such as this one. Note: if you have set Spotify or another music service as your primary/default for Echo music, then for this particular track to play you'll need to say "Alexa, Play Babbling Brook on Amazon Prime" to get it started. Alexa will respond with "Playing Babbling Brook by Joe Baker". **
Instead of using an app for pleasant white noise during your sleep time, I've found it much better to simply ask Alexa to "Alexa, Play Running Stream on Amazon Music", for example. This particular track is a little less then 10 minutes long, but after you start it if you then say "Alexa, Loop mode on", that track will repeat and repeat all night long until you tell her to stop in the morning. After loop mode is on, you can then, if you want, say "Alexa, Stop after 8 hours" to have it stop playing automatically. (This particular track fads out quickly toward the end, so it'll fade out then fade in quickly when it restarts the next loop. The transition is so smooth, I didn't find the fading in/out every 10 minutes to be an issue at all).
Plus there is a huge selection of different Nature Sounds to choose from in the Amazon Music Library!
This app is OK, but kinda' lame in my opinion. And that's because the rain sound turns off after about 50 minutes of playing and there's no command built-in to tell it to continue. I've tried starting Rain Sounds, then saying "Alexa, stop after 8 hours". Alexa will set a "sleep timer", but that won't make this app play any longer, it still shuts off when it feels like it. And the Alexa "loop" command doesn't affect this app (it's for playing music only). I've found that I can manually restart Rain Sounds if I press the play/pause button on top of my Tap, but that's not gonna' cut it for sleeping with white noise on all night, so not a viable option.
Check out all the various nature sound recordings / albums in Amazon Prime Music. That'll be a much more flexible solution then skills that are available at this time, and you can play 'em all night long if you want.
Sweet dreams!
