A few minutes ago this was a Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid Glass Food Storage Bowl. This bowl is labeled and sold by Rubbermaid as microwave safe to 425 degrees. It very clearly is not. I set the microwave for 2 minutes, and just after 60 seconds the bowl exploded. This should not have happened. I found complaints about the same thing happening with these same bowls dating back to 2011. In each one I read Rubbermaid has said, "At this time, Rubbermaid does not believe that the specific product concerns expressed, suggest a defect that presents a substantial product hazard or unreasonable risk of serious injury or death." Are you kidding me?? In many of these complaints the consumer had already removed the bowl from the microwave and placed it on the counter before it exploded. Had they been still holding it in their hands, they surely would have been injured. Had I been holding this when it exploded, I would have been. If you are considering buying this product, I urge you not to. If have these bowls in your home DO NOT use them in the microwave. Because of the lack of concern for their consumers, we will not be buying from this brand again.
