At first I liked this product -- enough to buy another one for my son's room and another for my in-laws. However, after about a year of use, we just threw them away. Despite the fact we were religious about changing the filter monthly (even had an Amazon subscription for them!), about 10 months in we noticed an awful musty smell coming from them. Tried cleaning what we could, but the design of this product makes it almost impossible to clean -- the fan and motor are encased in plastic and screwed shut. That also makes it incredibly difficult to try and remove the dust that inevitably collects on the fan. Usually Amazon reviews don't steer me wrong -- and this was a top seller -- but in this case I'm really disappointed. The amount we spent on the humidifiers, plus the filters each month, makes that disappointment even worse.
