I have had the unit less than sixty days and used it last week for the second time. I noticed oil stains in the water on my driveway and after further inspection I found oil leaking from the end cap on the pump. I contacted Simpson, which may take you a half a day, and was directed to a local warranty repair shop. In the conversation I told them that the washer was purchased through Amazon, upon which I was informed that Amazon is not and authorized dealer and they only provide warranty for units sold by authorized dealers. Look up warranties in Amazon and you can find that this is and accepted practice by some manufacturers. When I contacted Amazon I learned that their return policy is only good for thirty days and since I was almost twice that I was out of luck. But after a lengthy conversation and being placed on hold several times they offered me $60.00 in CREDIT towards the repairs and if it went over the $60.00 they would consider further compensation? Reading the owners manual it says that Honda provides the engine warranty so I might be covered there. It took me several times on hold to get though to Simpson the fist time and the local authorized repair shop that they gave me the name and number for is no longer in business. Since then I have tried numerous times to contact them and have left messages with no results, you can wait on hold for about 20 minutes and then you will be disconnected. My recommendation is to avoid Simpson products all together and do your research when purchasing major items from Amazon. Follow up: After having the oil leak repaired witch cost $75.00 I contacted Amazon and without even asking for proof they refunded my credit card the full $75.00. This certainly helped restore my confidence in Amazon but again check the warranty policy on larger purchases.
