★★☆☆☆
There is clay in this litter.
Bentonite clay can NOT be flushed! Please feel free to ask a plumber or look it up, but it's definitely not good to put down the drain. The description for this product says multiple times that it can be flushed, but with that clay in it, it cannot be flushed, unless you feel like replacing whole lengths of your plumbing eventually or in cases of septic systems, flooding your yard and so forth... Please omit the clay and your product would be much much better. Clay litters are bad for kitties anyways, associated to several severe health issues. Feel free to ask a vet or look it up. The clay makes it so that this is the first tofu litter I tried that was quite dusty, and the clumps sometimes stick stubbornly to the pan if they happened to touch the sides or bottom. I was looking for material such as tofu in order to avoid clay! Basically, the clay really messed up the product for me. It smells bad too! I don't want my home smelling like animal rescues I've volunteered at where they HAD to use clay litters because that's all they could afford to use. Clay litters only need to be used maybe once and they start to get That Smell to them that I personally can't stand. I'd almost rather just smell kitties' big business. Almost. Why was it even included? Seems like it would still do the job well without the clay, and spare the cats from respiratory/health issues. Cats who've recently had surgeries can't have clay litters either. Usually a vet will warn clients of this. Your customers might think they are safe because your product description is misleading. Call it bentonite CLAY. MAKE SURE THE WORD CLAY appears so that no one accidently harms their pets. "Bentonite clay litters," as said in the description, is too easy to overlook, especially when the name of the product focuses on tofu, a common safe alternative to clay. I hope you reconsider using clay as part of the product. One of my adopted cats who had a substrate issue finally used litter boxes consistently, 100% of the time, once I switched his litter to tofu. The clay included in this could've messed that up as well.
