Great size, great picture, poorly designed menus and no support from Samsung
I'm 2 weeks in to using this monitor and it is now sitting in its box waiting to go back. To level set, I have a technology background so technology is not a mystery to me. I purchased this to provide a KVM solution and to leverage my Thunderbolt3 capable PC. It seems to use the KVM switch you will need to hook up the mouse/keyboard/video then the only way to switch between the 2 sources is to engage the PIP or PBP, swap the USB using a button on the monitor then switch out of PIP/PBP then switch to the target source. And then you have to do that again to get back to the other source. There is no simple button press to make this happen. The manual is so incredibly contradictory, vague and nonhelpful that it's almost better not to use it. The manual doesn't go through the actual connections steps you need to make any of the KVM connections, it just highlights certain functions of the product. The technical support is only done through the Business side which is phone based only and only 9am to 5pm or close to it. No email support. There does not seem to be a team dedicated to supporting this new monitor so no one knows any answers and incorrect information was provided to me on several occasions. The monitor software and firmware is also poorly designed. 1-switching between monitors you will see that it seems to forget it's last successful connection and scans for minutes through all the options and even when you point it to the correct connection, it doesn't see it most of the time 2-in relation to the issue #1, if you are in a PIP/PBP session and switching between and it can't find your other source, once you take one of the sources away to try and use it the software sticks on PIP/PBP and will only allow you to back out of that session if both sources are "seen" by the monitor. But since it has forgotten, it only scans and scans and the only way to fix that I've seen is to unplug it 2 hours or more. 3-there is no way I have seen to access the menu (where you can set or reset the connection parameters) until it finishes its scanning which can take 10-15 minutes. At this point I've spent 10-12 hours trying to configure this monitor and trying to connect with someone from Samsung who has some information over and above the manual on the website but to date, I've found none with that knowledge. I have a BBB compliant in to Samsung who contacted me quickly but the person from the President's Office trying to resolve this for me has been unable to find anyone who can offer any resolution and that has been 5 business days ow. It will most likely go back unless they deliver a direct contact to me that can call or email for help.
