I bought this two years ago because of its "germ free" claim. I replaced the expensive filters on a regular basis even though the replace filter light never went on. As other reviewers have posted the filters get gross after a short period of time. The fan is under a non removable casing and near impossible to clean. Lately I've been having allergy problems each morning and took a closer look at what I thought was dust on the fan blades. Not only is there mold underneath the dust but there is additional mold underneath the fan blades which is impossible to get at. I have been waking up in the morning with congestion that goes away when I leave the bedroom. I bought this unit because of its "germ free" claim but I think it is unhealthy and frankly gross.
