The Hero of this book is absolutely disgusting. His bastard of a father pressures him to marry the heroine who is a wealthy American debutante. So he plays, cons and manipulates her emotions, after all she is a "little mouse". After the one night honeymoon, and her begging him to stay, he abandons her for 5 months. During that time he's been a drunken horndog. And moved his mistress into their London home! Now that his father wants grandchildren, he's back. Feeding her the same old bs and continually trying to get under her skirts. Now the heroine is of course angry and hurt, she wants a divorce. But yet......every time he touches her, breathes on her, looks at her, she's wet and ready. The prologue really is enticing and the empathy is there for the hero....Then chapter 1 ruined it all. He is just such a scumbag and I wanted to take a strong disinfectant to him. Honestly, did not finish because it became repugnant. He has the heroine in the first few chapters up around his shoulders, telling her to hold up her skirt, and the author begins telling us about the oral sex he performs on her. Oh, by the way, remember she wants a divorce! I like a good sexy romance! But this writing gave off the feeling of being "unclean" somehow.
