Want people spying on your house from all over the world?
Look. I would rather post this anonymously but because I'm so concerned and disturbed I'm just going to put this out there. I loved these cameras when I first got them. Worked great, love the portability, recommended them to friends. HOWEVER. I noticed strange things happening on my router. Now, I'm not an IT person. And, if you're not? Chances are you're not logging into your router logs just for fun to see what's up. I'm just a bit curious I guess by nature. Come to find out through help of IT at work, THIS CAMERA/APP ALLOWS DoS attacks directly to your wifi. What does this mean? I didn't know either. Apparently, people can gain access to all your connected devices, AND...have a side show of watching your cameras (thankfully mine are outside and only see the occasional amazon package or raccoon at night). SO. I had to change all my passwords, and had help confirming it's actually the app/cameras themselves that allow these DoS access points. Maybe you don't care because you want the convenience of watching your kid and dog at home. That's cool. I get it. But, I personally don't want a coordinated international surveillance point into my home. I get we have no privacy, but the little I have I don't want to give away, including through the very items I purchased to enforce privacy at my home. That's the total mind-bender of it all. (I said mind bender because I would rather you read the review and not be distracted by my swearing if it offends you, though a HUGE swear is warranted). Thank you for reading my Ted Talk review on privacy invasion (but seriously...multiply that by the number of us that have these? I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it's a seriously disturbing reality when you think about it).
