★★☆☆☆
An inexpensive Gear substitute. (kinda, see update)
UPDATE: I've had this watch for almost 3 months, using it 5 days a week. Although the watch itself is very functional, the app that I have to use to connect it to my phone is garbage. Occasionally, it will go haywire and drain my phone's battery, but most annoying is the fact that bluetooth disconnects 1-3 times a DAY. Sometimes it looks like it's connected, but I get a text, and it doesn't show up on the watch. This is the main reason I bought it. The bluetooth range is also a joke. I can go 2 rooms away from my phone and it disconnects. Living room to the office) Once it disconnects you have to manually reconnect it, unlike my wife's Galaxy Gear Fit, which reconnects automatically when it's back in range. Her watch also has 3x the range. Yes, I know that her watch cost $180 (now $119) and this was under $50, but between the range and the b.s. app that I have to deal with, I've decided that I'm not going to wear it anymore. I've had it a week now connected to my Samsung Galaxy S 5, and it seems to be working well for me. No dropped bluetooth connections and it responds to touch well. The fact that you can view and reply to a text and answer a call right through the watch is very nice, (the reason I bought it) BUT the keypad for texting is tiny and handwriting is a joke. The voice quality for calls is usable but poor. Testing the Pedometer, after only 389 steps on my GS5, the watch read 259. I'm guessing the GS5 is more accurate. The earbuds that it comes with are junk. Music CAN be played via bluetooth from your phone, but it sounds like an AM radio. I think that if I did want to use headphones more, I'd purchase a micro usb to 3.5mm adapter. Some of the other options are really cool like remote capture, file manager (still figuring this one out), and you can find your phone with your watch and vice versa. The battery really does last 3 days. I wish that there were themes, but I can't complain too much about that. They made the interface look a lot like the Gear and Windows had a baby. I actually like the way it looks. Overall, it's worth the price. Value vs. functionallity gives it 4 stars from me.
