Non-existent peroxide and vulgarity, and Tom Hanks ... Nuff said
Just sayin' ... And even though hair dye was invented in 1863, pretty sure the rugged frontier settlers weren't the types. Yellowstone is a cross between Marlboro man meets country music video meets Ford commercial - add in some unwatchable child abuse (Yellowstone). Some of the characters are strong, but Yellowstone is intentionally vulgar, inc w/a child. Watch a real classic western. Better for the soul. 1883 is lower IQ than Yellowstone, and fixates on the attempt to make a legend aura with the peroxide teen. Laura Engels Wilder, she is NOT. Had they cast more authentically, maybe i'd buy into it more. For me, the peroxide and gratuitous cursing f- bombs and Hanks, who is again, TOTALLY MISCAST in a western is barely to not watchable. I give 2 stars only cuz' TV needs more historical dramas. Btw, how did all those immigrants suddenly learn English?
