It seems like a good atlas is a thing of the past. I was looking for a more detailed atlas with countries and cities clearly shown. This Atlas is more about facts and figures of continents much less about maps. The maps are broken down by continents more than my countries or areas. I have a wonderful Rand McNally atlas from the early 2000's that is falling apart from years of use. The US was broken down state by state and there was more detail of countries around the world. Are you planning a trip to the lovely small country of Slovenia? Only the capital Ljubljana is listed and the country is a speck on the map. You won't find small towns in this atlas. This book is more like a world almanac with facts on climate, population, trade etc.,. Yes, all that information is useful but you will be seriously disappointed if you are looking for maps of US states or countries around the world to plan a trip or locate a town. It can be useful for people who just want general information. Where is Turkey? or where is Angola? But, don't expect more. There is a section on the moon and the solar system but I am not planning a trip to the moon in the near future.
