Updating my review 3/13/2017. This pool has had a $100+ increase since 2013. I am saddened to see that the seller is taking advantage of people by pricing this out of the range of most families. There are many inflatable pool options with the same benefits as this one. On principle, I will never recommend this pool again. Their are other great Intex pool products, including a square version of this pool that is still affordable. So disappointed in this seller. This was my fourth home birth and fourth tub/pool. Aqua Doula, Birth Pool In A Box and an off brand birth pool all had their ups and downs. This pool was all ups! The sides inflated to full capacity and kept me supported and comfortable. The depth was lovely, the cushioned bottom was by far my favorite feature, and the ease of motion while in this pool was perfect. I'm 5'3" and was 140lbs at the time of birth and this pool was the exact size I needed. The side walls are high so stepping in and out was done with caution but became a huge benefit while laboring. I had no problem with the position of the drain. I didn't even notice it during my labor. It retained both air and water the entire labor and birth. The thickness of the material felt sturdy and I saw no issues. Aqua Doula was a close second only because of the heater and the cover but the sides were uncomfortable and the bottom wasn't cushioned at all. Birth Pool In A Box was inflated similarly and had handles but I didn't even use them. The inflatable bench/chair was pretty useless since I kept sliding off of it! Both options were expensive, even for a rental. I would highly recommend this product to anyone desiring a comfortable birth pool!
