Good Product, Horrible support if anything goes wrong.
I have very mixed feelings about these TV's. Ultimately, I don't believe in supporting this company. Their customer support is a joke. Every estimate they gave me was a lie. Reps agreed the time I waited was exorbitant.
DO NOT BUY THIS TV.
July 12th - Ordered the TV on a lighting deal and received it 2 days later. Setup the TV and began watching netflix in beautiful 4k. Great colors, pretty bad viewing angles though. Good contrast and a decent amount of customization in terms of contrast, sharpness, brightness, etc. This is a very cheap Smart TV with core applications for this day and age in television. I don't have cable so it's very important that this TV have easy internet access. The remote has dedicated buttons to Netflix and YouTube. Along with Vudu and other services. Missing a Twitch application but it does have MLG TV if you're into that.
First thoughts, Great TV for the money.
July 19th - TV asks me to update firmware automatically and I accept. Leave the TV for a while and come back. Black screen. Figure it's still updating, leave for an hour come back, Black screen. Hit some buttons, no response. Try to turn off the TV, no response. Push buttons on the side, no response. Unplug the TV and turn it back on. Blue black and white vertical lines all over the screen. Time to call Hisense...
Call up Hisense and am told by the customer service representative that they are sending a repairman in the next week or so. I will be called by the repair company about setting up an appointment. Sounds good!
July 23rd - Get an email from Hisense that I need to send in pictures. I send the attached pictures and they say I will get a call back about the status in 24-48 hours.
At this point I know its a firmware issue and I spend a few hours looking online for firmware for this TV. No where to be found. Not on the Hisense China site, not on the US site. Not on forum posts. Nothing.
July 26th - Call Hisense because I never received a call back, they tell me that they sent it to the Firmware department "in the United states" and I will get a call back on the status in 24 to 48 hours.
July 29th - Call Hisense again because I never got a call back. Ask the rep what they can do and why I haven't received an email or call back. They tell me a supervisor will send an email to America and I'll get a call back in 24-48 hours about the response.
August 1st- Call Hisense again because I never got a call back (noticing a pattern???). Ask the rep what is going on and they tell me to call back the next day in the evening if I don't get a response and speak to a supervision.
August 2nd - Call Hisense and ask to speak to a supervisor. Conveniently my part has been shipped out according to the system but they have no tracking information. I ask why I was never called back the numerous times I was assured I'd get a call back. Supervisor apologizes and says she put me on her personal chart and will be in contact on any updates. She assures me I will have the firmware update by the end of the week (3-4 days she says). She can't contact the firmware department in the US because their offices are conveniently closed 10 minutes before I called. I was told to call in the evening, go figure....
August 3rd - Get an email from Hisense saying they shipped the firmware. Also they ask if I want the Firmware over email and I reply back yes.
August 5th - Call Hisense because I got no response. Asking for them to send the email with the Firmware. Customer service rep assures me the request was sent and will get a reply in 24 to 48 hours... Oh really now? Is that the same as the other 6 times I've been told this? Rep assures me it will take 24 hours and at the VERY LATEST take 48.
August 8th - Call Hisense because no response. At this point, I'm better off returning the TV but I'm trying to give Hisense a chance to fix this. All it needs is a simple email to fix the whole issue. They tell me the email was sent. They can send another email and get a response in 24-48 hours. I hang up in frustration.
I then call Amazon and request and exchange, but Amazon doesn't have the TV in stock anymore. I have 5 more days to return this thing or I'll be stuck with Hisense...... I am asking for an exchange because the TV was bought on a lighting deal and the new price is $400. If I return this thing then I will only get $300 and have no TV. Amazon starts a 3 way call to verify the information above and the Hisense Rep says that I will get an email by 4pm Pacific with the Firmware. Amazon tells me if I don't get the email to call them back and discuss return options. 4pm, No email. I'm returning this TV. Call back Amazon and they will exchange for a Used version of the TV.
August 9th - USB shows up and fixes the TV. I get an email with the firmware a day after.....
Hisense does not care about their customers. If you have a problem you will wait until they feel like helping you. Also, they won't update you on anything, you have to call in and wait 10 minutes to connect to a rep. All their estimates were completely false and they will give you the run around until you can't stand the sound of their voice and hang up.
