I've had this product now for going on three years and I've ordered a second one for my son's home and have never had a bad experience with this product until now. The suet fillers have a gap of about 1 inch on top of them between the top of the suet holders and the lid/top of the feeder. Unfortunately this spring a woodpecker got inside climbed over the top of that 1 inch gap and inside the suet holders and perished. It literally happened within an hour of us looking at the birds that morning. This is an easy fix for the manufacturer, just continue the mesh that holds the suet to the lid/top thereby eliminating that 1 inch gap. I continue to use the feeder because what I did was roll up aluminum foil and place the suet bricks in the suet holder and then I put the 1 inch aluminum foil rolled up on top of the suet blocks so the birds can't climb through the gap and into the smaller suet holder and get stuck. It’s really an easy fix but the manufacture needs to change their design, when they do I will change to a five-star but for now it remains a zero* the lowest I can give was a one. I've included a photo of the aluminum rolled up that I added to mine for those that may want to try that with an already purchased product.
