I have reordered this item but am hugely disappointed to have spent so much money on this to have it stop working after only 4 uses. No noise of any kind occurred after sending through the final 4th die cut. I tried all manner of fixes, ie. new outlet, letting it sit for a couple hours, etc. The machine wasn't warm so "overheating" is not the culprit. It would come back on after letting it sit but would shut off immediately after pressing the on button on top of the machine. Hopefully, the new one will work well beyond 30 days. I was fortunate(?) that it stopped working before my 30 days were up with Amazon because after I contacted the manufacturer to express my discontent, returning it to the manufacturer required several more hoops to jump through to have it returned and repaired or POSSIBLY replaced. Note to all: this is one product I will register and warranty with the manufacturer (*in case it breaks after 31 days...).
