Oh Ideal Pet Products... I don't know what to say. I think you may be worse than AA batteries. Did you really intend your double flap pet door to only last 6 months before the first flap needs replaced? Would it be possible to conceive of possibly doing a two pack of replacement doors for a reasonable price because surely with your extensive product testing you would have noticed that the second door will fail just a month later. Overall, I really don't have a problem replacing the flaps. My dogs occasionally run through the door like it is a time portal and they are being chased by something HUGE. The flaps start to stretch then eventually start falling off. I think some rather simple engineering similar to the brilliant metal edge on the bottom which helps keep it closed would triple the door's life. The problem I have is by the time I have replaced both doors I am only $30 from replacing the entire unit. That is crazy! These flaps should be sold for $10 each but instead I have to spend nearly 4x that much.
