About the only good thing I can say about this Ooma Telo is that it is looks sharp. I ordered this based upon the mostly positive reviews here on Amazon and was excited to get it set-up. Amazon's service and delivery were top-notch as usual - but the product itself was a failure. I've worked for a dot com for 15 years and am comfortable with tech gear - the Ooma took 2 calls into customer service just to set up my account and get it active - their website kept giving me an error message at the "activate" tab. The first CS rep told me another customer must have selected the same phone number just moments before I did so it wouldn't allow me to move forward. Seemed unlikely, but plausible - so I said thank you, hung up, chose another phone number and tried again - still no luck. The second CS rep told me I should try IE instead of Chrome as my browser - I was getting a bit suspicious at this point, but that did in fact work - weird. So I got everything hooked up and the firmware update auto installed without a hitch - I finally got the "blue light" on the device and thought I was good to go - wrong. I couldn't make any calls - I would get the dial tone, but no ring tone. After making several test calls to various numbers, I found that it actually was connecting, but there was no audio either way. Same thing with incoming calls. So I did a reboot of my entire home network per the advice on their support site - still no success. So then I called CS again. After a wait of about 10 minutes and then another 45 minutes of trouble-shooting without any progress, I was late for work and getting tired of the process - so I asked to cancel my account. To my surprise, the rep then asked me if I'd like to upgrade my account to one of their "premier" offerings as that might work better - I said no thanks as we couldn't even get my existing service to work and again asked to cancel my account. I was then asked to wait as they transferred me to "tier 2" support. When a very polite "Amy" answered after about a 5 minute hold, I briefly explained that I've spent quite a while trying to get the Ooma to work and I'd like to return the device and cancel my account. She said she was "disappointed that I wasn't willing to invest the time needed to get my Ooma to work properly." I told her that it was my experience that devices that are problematic to set-up, will continue to be problematic - so I'd like to move forward with terminating my account. At that point she bacame aggitated, said my account was cancelled, and shot off a reference number. I told her to please repeat the number as she said it so quickly I didn't have time to make note of it - and she then gave it to me at an exaggerated sluggish pace - like I was some senior citizen with hearing issues. I'm not. I actually got their message loud and clear - I was no longer worth their time and was an annoyance. This thing is now boxed up and ready for return - not worth the trouble - bye, bye Ooma.
