Camcorder Returned the day after delivery. I am struggling to understand the comments of the 5 star 'verified reviews' for this camcorder. After reading every lackluster booklet this camcorder came with and setting up the camcorder just as instructed, the realization that I had been had, hit home. 1. Absolutely not 4K resolution 2. Both video and photo quality is bad 3. The instruction booklets are not correct in some areas - It's as if the booklets try to cover several camcorder models 4. The focus on this device is truly horrendous - No auto-focus and manual settings do not help 5. Even following the instructions, the fuzzy video and photo results are disappointing 6. The microphone is worse than the built-in sound the camcorder has - The noise and zapping are unacceptable 7. The built-in sound is very 'tunnel' like and crackles upon playback. 8. The bottom of the camera does not come with a hot shoe for use with a standard tripod - There is a place to screw in a tripod, but the inlet on the camcorder is not a standard tripod size and you cannot screw it in easily 9. After trying to shoot less than 20 minutes of total filming, the camcorder started to turn itself off arbitrarily - That's when we both gave up and repackaged it for return Two suggestions for those who are considering this camcorder: 1. Take a look at the last 1 minute of the video posted by Calvin Hall "Versatile Video Camera" under his review here on Amazon. That is the nearly the same quality I was able to achieve with this camcorder. It's unacceptable. 2. If you prefer, simply try watching a VHS tape on your Smart TV. That is a great representation of the quality this camera can achieve. NOTES - After reading all the previous reviews for this camera before I returned it, I would like to make clear a few things that keep popping up on the reviews of those who give this camera it's low star rating. The battery was taken new from the bag, unwrapped and plugged in to charge for a full 8-hours before use in the camera. During this time, the booklets that came with the camera were each read cover-to-cover by two competent adults with vast digital/imaging electronics experience. The bottom line is this camcorder is worth a minimum fraction of its cost for what it actually delivers. It is about lack of quality, construction, and standard camcorder options that I arrive at my opinion of this product. Not lack of experience or knowledge.
