This perks fabulous coffee--but as multiple reviewers in this review stream have noted, its heating element is prone to failure. In my case, it conked out 6 months after purchase and thus, became a worthless piece of stainless steel. I figured that with 180 perks, it cost 21 cents per perk to go from great to junk status. So--if you have any intent to buy this item, throw a few bucks into the 3rd party warranty. Or, buy another brand whose heating element is not made in China. BTW, our 1968 Farberware percolator is still going strong, so perfection is possible with attention to engineering detail.
