Battle of the Grindfest
I wrote an extensive review earlier, nearly two pages in length, it was the top rated review on Amazon with over 150 likes, of course this morning it was “removed” as were dozens of other negative reviews. I bought this game mostly to play SP against the AI, in this regard, BF2 offers the least amount of content by a long shot compared to the two original games from years ago and last years’ iteration. You have a four hour campaign and a handful of extremely simplified canned missions against the AI. The AI does not use heroes, vehicles, anything except troops, laughable compared to the games from the original Xbox, which were huge in scale and where the AI controlled heroes, vehicles etc. MP can actually offer a good time, though literally everything is locked behind the largest grind wall ever, there's nothing else that I can think of that compares, it would take thousands of hours to unlock everything. Do not for a second believe that EA removed micro-transactions, you still have EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING locked behind grind walls and loot boxes. It's an absolutely deplorable model, think of the printer concept, where it's free after rebate, yet two-months of ink is worth more than the printer itself. This is the model EA is going with, they are essentially moving away from single player focused games, they want you in their multiplayer EcoSphere. In this approach, they assess you will pay more to get additional content or pay for content that is locked behind a massive grind wall. I'll pass, recommend you do the same.
