I have a Trek 6000 mountain bike that I like a lot. But my two sons keep borrowing it and often I am without a bike. So I decided to buy an inexpensive bike for those days. I looked at the local bike shops for bike up to $400 but all models looked dull and uninspiring. Then I found this bike on Amazon. It looked great and the price was affordable. After receiving the bike (within five days), I spent about an hour assembling it. I am fairly skilled so the assembly was not difficult. Here are my impressions after the first day: The good: the bike looks really good - better than I expected. It rides smoothly and quietly without any rattling or grinding noise. Shifting is surprisingly good thanks to Shimano drive train. Seat is ok but will need to be upgraded. The bad: the decals are slapped on the frame quite carelessly with many air bubbles underneath. Bikes at half the price at KMart have better placed decals. I feel I can do a better job on the first try. Then the really really bad: the wheels on this bike are painted white most likely for the looks. However the breaking area of the rims is not machined and is causing extreme break squeaking. Search youtube for this bike to make your own judgement. I cannot understand how the manufacturer would ship this bike with such a major flaw. If they have taken the time to machine the rims under the breaks, this would have been a very good inexpensive bike. But because of the squeaking breaks, I would not recommend this bike to anyone.
